At Martock Church of England Primary School, the safeguarding and welfare of children is of paramount importance.  Our aim is to safeguard and promote our pupil's welfare, safety, health and guidance by fostering an open, honest, caring and supportive climate.

We recognise that high self-esteem, confidence, supportive friends and clear lines of communication with trusted adults help all children, especially those who are feeling vulnerable.

Everyone working in the school has to be cleared via the disclosure procedure and detailed records are maintained at the school.  Key members from both the governing Body and staff are trained in Safer Recruitment.

We recognise that safeguarding is the responsibility of all adults in the school and all staff and Governors therefore receive appropriate training.

There is a full Safeguarding Policy* (including the E-Safety Policy) available on the website which is reviewed by Governors annually.
